BIOGRAPHY

Jim Breese is one of the most exciting DJ talents currently emerging from the UK club scene. As resident Hed Kandi DJ he is well versed in peak time vocal-led, electro house, though beyond that there is a love of edgier house sets that combine deep electronic tones from labels such as Get Physical and Poker Flat. Jim mixed Hed Kandi's current 'Stereo Sushi' and 'Twisted Disco' digital download albums and has also co-compiled their renowned and eclectic Nu Cool, Serve Chilled and Beach House collections. Jim's 'Breese and Bad Hand' studio partnership have recently remixed club hit 'Lollipop' by Dada, released on Data Records.

2006 has seen appearances far and wide, including a grueling US tour, celebrity sunset parties in Dubai, the UK's huge Hi-Fi and Global Gathering festivals, World Cup fever in Germany, Ibiza's famous Privilege, El Divino and Pacha venues, Egypt, the Greek Islands, Sao Paulo in Brazil, all across Europe, both East and West, plus of course so many in the UK. Such variety necessitates a diverse music policy, a challenge he revels in and puts to good use at his myriad weekly residencies such as Match and Sosho in London (the latter recently winner of the prestigious Time Out 'Bar Of The Year' award).

For three years Jim was resident DJ at Café Mambo in Ibiza, acknowledged as the most important and influential clubbing-bar on earth. He would spin for eight hours each and every day, May until October, playing daytime sets, night time sets, and of course enjoying the endless quest to perfect the art of the Sunset mix, that Holy Grail of Ibiza DJing.

Mambo and the adjacent Café Del Mar are the focal point for the thousands who gather on Ibiza's 'Sunset Strip' each evening, determined to enjoy the communal spectacle as sun descends into the Mediterranean Sea. It's a magical, emotional moment, one that for three long summers was further enhanced by Jim's seamlessly chilled and dramatic musical soundtracks.

After sunset the club freaks emerge, joined at Mambo by virtually every international DJ of note - Jim played host each night to legends such as Sanchez, Emerson, Morillo, Tong and Morales - all of whom played weekly, then there were the countless guests! Naturally Jim learnt so much from sharing his booth.

In 2003 he played at MTV Aquasonic, Ibiza's largest open-air festival, plus debuted on BBC Radio 1 with a live 'Sunset guest mix' on Pete Tong's Essential Selection - the most popular and acclaimed dance music show on British radio.

The winter saw Jim busy with the Cafe Mambo World Tour, exporting his trademark sound extensively across South East Asia and Australia. One set in the Indonesian paradise of Bali led to Jim being offered the 2004 summer DJ residency at the magical KU DE TA beach club, as well as hosting his own Hero night at the Double Six super-club.

2005 saw Jim Breese further in demand across the globe, traveling to some of the best international club destinations - Ibiza, Moscow, Copenhagen, Bali... and the UK of course. To top off another successful year, he was handpicked to play for the hugely popular and world-acclaimed Hed Kandi brand, part of the Ministry of Sound empire.

Jim Breese has always been a DJ talent to watch, so now that he's fully 'arrived' look out for him at a dark, pulsing room near you soon!
